Kenna MacTavish

Kenna MacTavish
Introducing the first person to be featured on Pitty Stories, Kenna MacTavish. Kenna is a full-time student at the University of Tasmania where she is undertaking a double-major in English and History. She also works casually at Pitbull Mansion managing our Instagram, taking photos and trying hard to keep everything colour coordinated and looking spiffy. We managed to get some rad photos of her while she was house sitting at her grandparent's house and as you will see, they're pretty lovely!
________
PM: Do you have a favourite life quote? :
Kenna: I don't think I follow any quote in particular, but I'm a big fan of individualism and try very hard not to worry about what people think about the way I dress and carry myself.
PM: Hard copy or eBook? :
Kenna: This one is easy. Hard copy all the way!  I always have at least one book in my bag and spend more money at second-hand bookshops than my bank account allows for.
PM: Sustainable or mass-produced? :
Kenna: I definitely prefer slow fashion because I would much rather spend more money on a product that will last well, is made of high quality material and knowing that it was made sustainably is a big tick for me. I'm very fussy about the materials my clothes are made of, so I am constantly looking for high quality cottons and the perfect wool jumper.
PM: What do you think the hardest thing about shopping in Tassie is? :
Kenna: I think the hardest thing is that people are yet to feel as comfortable in their own skin as others on the Mainland probably do. I hear the words "Oh I don't think I'd wear that in Hobart" or "I'll wear this when I go to Melbourne" and I just think, get over yourself!  Wear what you want to wear because I think Hobart is stepping it up and people are definitely becoming more innovative in the way they are dressing. So yeah, I think shopping in Tassie could be made a lot easier if people were more willing to branch out and get out of the mindset that Tassie is so separated from the rest of the world when it comes to fashion.
PM: Describe what you love about Tassie in three words? :
Kenna: It's Wild, Friendly and Home.
PM: What's your favourite thing about working at Pitbull Mansion? :
Kenna: I have a lot of favourite things! It's absolutely the best place to work, but I think one of my favourite things is the conversations I get to have with our regulars and giving tourists recommendations for places to go in Hobart and surrounds!
PM: What's your favourite song at the moment? :
Kenna: At the moment I'm loving everything by Camp Cope, and I have the Hamilton soundtrack going around in my head constantly.
